Planning

Planning has many different approaches!

Each tool shop has the own way to success. Size is one reason: 20 Employee company has different processes than a 200 employee  company. Planning also depends on the order structure: many sample parts - or nearly only new tools, long BOM with many parts to manufacture - or big cast elements each with hundrets hours milling time. And off course it depends on the people in the tool shop. Some PlanTool users tell us “detail planning is not important for us” others tell they could not survive without detail planning! Most are somewhere inbeetween, doing detail planning for some special parts, doing it only for new tools... Some just see the working plan for documenting where the items have to go - others want PlanTool give dates for each item and each working step.
On top: the time! Companies two years ago only used overall planning now establish detail planning, some go back from “total detail planning” to often detail planning.

We created PlanTool to support such different processes “out of the box”. We are happy, if PlanTool supports your successful way of building tools. And we are available, if you want to get our help to achieve best practice processes. We can do it, because In PlanTool you are able to change without a lot of customize. PlanTool is from toolmaker for toolmakers!
